Aquiline nose ("hawk nose")

An aquiline nose is a colloquial term for a nose with a distinctly marked, convex bridge, often with a visible bony-cartilaginous hump. It can be a congenital feature, resulting from family build, previous injury, or changes within the structures of the nose. For some people it has aesthetic significance, but it sometimes also co-occurs with a deviated septum or impaired nasal patency. Assessment of an aquiline nose should take into account facial proportions, breathing function, and the patient's individual anatomy.
