Cosmetic acne (acne cosmetica)

Cosmetic acne is skin changes caused or worsened by cosmetics that clog hair follicle openings, irritate the skin, or disrupt its protective barrier. It can manifest as comedones, papules, pustules, or a worsening of existing acne. It most often affects the face, but can also appear on the neck, décolletage, or back, depending on the products used. Diagnosis requires an analysis of skincare and skin condition. In the case of severe or recurring lesions, it is worth consulting a dermatologist.
