Double chin
A double chin is a colloquial term for excess tissue or a bulge in the submental area, below the jawline. It can result from an accumulation of fatty tissue, skin laxity, anatomical build, a recessed chin, age-related changes, or weight fluctuations. It is not always associated with being overweight. Its assessment should take into account the proportions of the face, neck, and jaw. Choosing a possible course of management requires an individual consultation with a specialist.
