Drooping mouth corners
Drooping mouth corners describes the positioning of the corners of the lips turned downward, which can give the face a sadder or more tired expression. Causes may include facial expression, muscle tension, loss of tissue volume, skin laxity, anatomical build, or the aging process. The problem sometimes co-occurs with marionette lines and a change in the contour of the lower face. Assessment of drooping mouth corners should include facial proportions, symmetry, and the function of the muscles around the mouth.
