HPV

HPV, or human papillomavirus, is a group of viruses transmitted mainly through skin and sexual contact. Some types of HPV cause skin warts or genital warts, while others are associated with an increased risk of developing precancerous lesions and cancers, including cervical, anal, throat, and penile cancer. Infection often runs without symptoms, so prevention, vaccination, and regular examinations recommended by a doctor are important. Diagnosis and management require specialist consultation.
