Lip asymmetry

Lip asymmetry is a difference in the shape, volume, position, or mobility of the upper and lower lip, or the right and left side of the mouth. It may be a natural anatomical feature, or result from facial expression, malocclusion, previous injuries, scars, procedures, or age-related changes. If the asymmetry appears suddenly and is accompanied by facial muscle weakness or speech disturbances, urgent medical consultation is required. Planning any potential correction should be preceded by a specialist's assessment.
