Sagging arms ("bat wings")

Sagging arms, colloquially called "bat wings," refers to laxity of the skin and tissues on the back-inner part of the upper arms. It can appear with age, after significant weight loss, as a result of genetic predisposition, or diminished skin quality. It is sometimes accompanied by a local accumulation of fatty tissue. The change is not a disease, but it can affect patient comfort, clothing choice, and figure proportions. Assessing possible management requires an individual specialist consultation.
