Salicylic acid
Salicylic acid is a beta-hydroxy acid, or BHA, used in dermatology and cosmetology, primarily on oily, comedone-prone, and acne-prone skin. Thanks to its fat solubility, it can penetrate through sebum and support the cleansing of hair follicle openings. It has exfoliating and anti-inflammatory effects, but can cause dryness or irritation of the skin. It should not be used without caution in the case of active irritation, allergy to salicylates, or during dermatological treatment, without consulting a specialist.
