Seborrheic hair loss
Seborrheic hair loss is a colloquial term for excessive hair shedding co-occurring with intensified seborrhea of the scalp. It may be related to oily hair, itching, dandruff, inflammation, or seborrheic dermatitis. Seborrhea itself is not always the sole cause of hair loss, so it is necessary to differentiate it from, among other things, androgenetic alopecia, deficiencies, thyroid disorders, or chronic stress. Identifying the cause and choosing management require a dermatological or trichological consultation.
