Traction alopecia

Traction alopecia is hair loss caused by chronic tension and pulling on hair follicles. It can occur in people who frequently wear tight updos, ponytails, braids, hair extensions, or hairstyles that heavily strain the hairline. It most often affects the frontal, temporal area, and the edges of the hair-bearing scalp. In the early stage it may be reversible, but prolonged strain can lead to permanent damage to the follicles. It is worth consulting the problem with a specialist.
