What does an aesthetic medicine consultation consist of?

An aesthetic medicine consultation is an individual visit, during which the doctor carefully analyzes the condition of the skin of the face or body, taking into account both visible signs of aging and less obvious needs such as loss of moisture or uneven skin tone. An important element is a detailed medical history - the specialist asks about chronic diseases, medications taken, previous aesthetic procedures or current lifestyle, among other things. On this basis, the doctor presents possible solutions, i.e. recommended treatments, treatment plan and expected results. During the meeting there is also space to ask questions and discuss any concerns - both aesthetic and health-related.

At Dr Szczyt Clinic, a consultation always precedes any treatment. This standard ensures your safety and guarantees that the planned procedures are fully tailored to your individual needs, health condition, and natural beauty. Additionally, the doctor may suggest further diagnostic tests or a consultation with another specialist (e.g., a dermatologist or plastic surgeon) if the situation requires it. As a result, every treatment begins with a well-thought-out plan, not a random procedure.

When is it a good idea to come in for a consultation?

Aesthetic medicine consultation is recommended not only before a specific procedure. It is worth making an appointment if the patient:

  • is considering improving the firmness, tone or color of the skin,
  • struggles with signs of aging (wrinkles, loss of facial oval),
  • wants to get rid of discoloration, scars or dark circles under the eyes,
  • plans a lip, chin, jaw or cheek contouring procedure,
  • needs a tailored regenerative or moisturizing therapy.

The visit is helpful especially if there are specific questions, concerns, or patients want to consult on previous procedures performed elsewhere.

Do you need to prepare for the consultation?

There is no need to prepare for an aesthetic medicine consultation - all you need is an openness to the conversation and a willingness to discuss your needs and expectations. However, it's a good idea to think about the questions you want to principle beforehand - it will make it easier for the doctor to understand your goals. It is a good idea to prepare a list of questions, especially if you have concerns about specific treatments, their safety or effects.

If you are taking permanent medications, are undergoing dermatological or hormonal therapy, or have had aesthetic or surgical procedures in the past - you should inform the doctor about this just during the visit. In the case of chronic diseases, for example: autoimmune diseases or coagulation disorders, the doctor may ask for additional test results or consultation with another specialist.

During the consultation, the doctor will not only assess the condition of the skin and suggest possible solutions, but will also help plan individual therapy - a one-time treatment, as well as a long-term plan for improving the condition of the skin or modeling selected parts of the face. If patients have photos that show previous results of treatments (e.g. from other clinics), it is worth taking them - they will be helpful in the conversation.

What are the benefits of the consultation?

  • Individualized approach - the doctor focuses exclusively on your needs and capabilities.
  • Comprehensive skin assessment and an aesthetic plan tailored to you.
  • Greater awareness of available solutions and their effects.
  • It's time to ask all your questions and calmly address your concerns.
  • Safety - each procedure is preceded by a thorough medical history.

A consultation is not just a prelude to treatment - it is the foundation of well-planned care.

FAQ

Answers to frequently asked questions about a variety of treatments and procedures.

Can I do the procedure right away after the consultation?

In some cases, yes - if the doctor determines that there are no contraindications and the procedure does not require prior preparation, it is possible to perform the procedure on the same day.

Is a consultation mandatory before any treatment?

Yes. At Dr Szczyt linic, consultation is standard - it allows you to take care of safety, choose the right methods and achieve a natural result.

How long does the consultation last?

Usually 30 to 45 minutes - that's enough time to discuss needs, conduct an interview and propose an action plan.

Can I come just for advice, without a decision on the procedure?

Of course. The consultation doesn't commit you to any treatment - it's a time to find out what your options are and to consciously plan for possible action.
