Pityriasis versicolor
Pityriasis versicolor is a superficial skin infection caused by yeasts of the Malassezia genus, naturally present on human skin. It manifests as patches of lighter, darker, or pinkish coloration, most often on the trunk, neck, arms, and back. The lesions may flake slightly and are often more visible after sun exposure. The condition tends to recur. Diagnosis and choice of treatment should be confirmed by a dermatologist, especially in the case of extensive or recurring lesions.
