Oily dandruff
Oily dandruff is a form of dandruff in which exfoliated epidermis combines with excess sebum, forming yellowish, adherent scales on the scalp. It is often accompanied by itching, oily hair, redness, or skin irritation. It may co-occur with seborrheic dermatitis and tend to recur. It should not be treated purely as a cosmetic problem if symptoms are severe. Identifying the cause and choosing management require a dermatological or trichological consultation.
