Long-term regeneration and revitalization of facial skin
Platelet-rich plasma is a preparation that is extracted from the patient's blood, and the concentration of platelets in it is higher compared to natural, physiological plasma. Such therapy has been successfully used for many years, not only in aesthetic medicine, but also in dentistry, reconstructive surgery or orthopedics. Platelet-rich plasma is used to accelerate wound healing, smooth scars, regenerate periodontal tissue and rebuild bone tissue. It also helps reduce the appearance of signs of skin aging.
What does platelet-rich plasma therapy look like?
The procedure begins with the collection of a small amount of blood from the patient, about 6 - 60 ml. It goes into special tubes, which are then placed in a device that allows it to be centrifuged. The separation of leukocytes and erythrocytes from plasma with platelets then occurs. This yields a preparation called platelet-rich plasma, which is later injected into the patient's skin. This is done linearly, along a selected fold or wrinkle, or by using the classic mesotherapy technique.
Platelet-rich plasma stimulates stem cells to multiply and also stimulates fibroblasts to produce new collagen. This allows for skin regeneration and revitalization. Importantly, the treatment is completely safe. The preparation injected into the skin is natural, as it is obtained from the patient's blood, which eliminates the risk of allergic reactions. It is true that immediately after the administration of platelet-rich plasma, redness, slight swelling, and soreness may appear on the skin, but this is a characteristic reaction of the body to the injection. These symptoms quickly subside. There is also no need to worry that platelet-rich plasma therapy will be very painful. Before the preparation is injected, a cream is applied to the skin to minimize discomfort.
What effects does platelet-rich plasma provide?
The treatment revitalizes and evens out skin tone, improves elasticity, density, and tension. Wrinkles are smoothed out and become less visible, giving patients a younger and more radiant appearance. Platelet-rich plasma therapy also enables the reconstruction of collagen fibers and improves blood circulation in the skin. The treatment is very effective, with results visible as early as two weeks after the procedure and lasting up to several months.
Platelet-rich plasma - indications
Platelet-rich plasma therapy is recommended for people who want to get rid of such problems as:
- Wrinkles and unesthetic folds,
- Tired, dry, flabby and lackluster skin,
- Uneven skin tone,
- visible scars, such as acne.
Platelet-rich plasma is also administered to patients struggling with male pattern baldness. In addition, it makes it possible to accelerate the healing and regeneration of the skin after other aesthetic medicine procedures.
