BBL - buttock lift

Brazilian butt lift, also known as BBL, is an aesthetic medicine procedure that improves the appearance of the buttocks, giving them a more rounded and enlarged shape while firming the skin in this area of the body. It owes its name to the place where it originated, as its history dates back to the 1960s and South America. This method is also known as lipofilling or gluteoplasty and is less invasive than implant insertion, while ensuring natural results.

What is a Brazilian butt lift?

The method is based on lipotransfer, which is the transplantation of one's own fat tissue from a selected part of the body, such as the thighs, abdomen or hips. The transfer of fat cells from these areas not only allows for visible weight loss, but also achieves a natural buttock augmentation effect. This solution is less invasive than implants, yet long-lasting, compared to hyaluronic acid application.

Indications for performing the procedure

The procedure is designed for both men and women who have small, flat buttocks or asymmetry between one buttock and the other, skin that is flaccid and lacks firmness, or tissue defects in the buttock area, such as those caused by trauma. One of the key aspects of the Brazilian buttock lift is also the visible slimming of the areas from which fat is taken.

Contraindications

There are certain contraindications and risk factors that should be considered before deciding to undergo a Brazilian butt lift. The most important ones include:

  • Cancer and autoimmune diseases,
  • heart disease,
  • diabetes,
  • cardiovascular problems,
  • overweight or underweight,
  • infections in the treatment area (both at the site of collection and administration),
  • blood clotting disorder,
  • pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Course of treatment

The procedure begins with a detailed consultation and qualification for the procedure. It is performed under local anesthesia, and in some cases under general anesthesia. First, liposuction is performed, during which fat tissue is taken from selected areas of the patient's body, such as the hips, back, thighs or abdomen.

The extracted fat is then purified and prepared for further stages of the procedure. The specialist precisely injects the prepared material into specific points on the buttocks, giving them the desired shape and volume. It is worth noting that small punctures are used during this process, which minimizes the visibility of scars on the patient's skin and promotes recovery. The whole process takes about 1.5-2 hours.

So we can see that the procedure not only allows for buttock shaping, but also for the removal of unnecessary fatty tissue from other areas, which is an additional benefit for the patient.

Pre-treatment recommendations

The procedure does not require any special preparations. One week before the scheduled date, it is recommended only to refrain from consuming alcohol and smoking, and to stop taking blood-thinning drugs. In addition, it is advisable to drink plenty of water.

Recommendations after the procedure

In order to achieve the desired effect and quickly return to full physical fitness after the procedure, it is necessary to follow all the recommendations indicated by the specialist. First of all, it is necessary to wear special compression-modeling underwear for a period of 4 weeks after the procedure, as well as to avoid sleeping on the back and limit sitting to a minimum.

Any kind of physical activity should be avoided for at least three weeks after the procedure. In addition, in order to speed up healing and reduce swelling, it is recommended to take advantage of a specialized drainage massage from the second week after the procedure.

Effects of the treatment

The Brazilian butt lift is a procedure that offers permanent and immediate results. After using this method, you can enjoy beautifully lifted and augmented buttocks, with a very natural-looking result. Although positive changes are visible immediately after the procedure, the final results should be expected after about 6 months, when the swelling has completely subsided.

When liposuction is performed on the abdomen and hips, patients also gain a slimmer and more shapely waist, which gives the entire body an attractive appearance. This is especially true since the removed fat does not rebuild in the areas from which it was taken. This means that the effects are permanent, as long as the patient maintains a stable body weight after the procedure.

Brazilian butt lift is a procedure that offers lasting results, giving the figure a natural and attractive appearance. For many people, it is the perfect solution to improve the appearance of the buttocks and achieve the desired body proportions.

FAQ

Answers to frequently asked questions about a variety of treatments and procedures.

How to make an appointment at Dr Szczyt Clinic?

You can schedule a visit by calling 22 654 90 60 or via the website under Consultation appointments.

How do you choose the right treatment at Dr Szczyt Clinic?

The best way to choose the right treatment at a plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine clinic is to start with a consultation with a specialist. During the visit, the doctor will conduct a detailed medical interview, familiarize themselves with the patient's expectations, and assess their health and the specific nature of the aesthetic problem. Based on this information, they will advise on which treatments will be appropriate to achieve the desired results. The consultation also allows you to discuss the available options, their potential effects, and any possible risks, which makes it easier to make an informed decision.

What are the risks associated with plastic surgery procedures?

Every plastic surgery procedure, like any medical intervention, involves certain risks. The most common complications include infections, bleeding, reactions to anesthesia, and scarring. Less common complications include blood clots, pulmonary embolism, and sensory disturbances in the operated area. Proper preparation of the patient, careful qualification for the procedure, and the experience and professionalism of the medical team significantly minimize these risks. It is also important to follow the doctor's recommendations in the postoperative period, which allows for a faster and safer recovery.

Are aesthetic medicine procedures painful?

Aesthetic medicine treatments are usually minimally invasive and involve minimal discomfort. Most of them, such as injections or laser therapy, are performed using local anesthetics, which significantly reduces discomfort. Patients may experience slight pricking, burning, or tightness of the skin, but these symptoms usually disappear quickly after the procedure. If necessary, the doctor will always select appropriate pain relief methods to ensure maximum comfort for patients.
