Fat grafting - lipotransfer

Lipotransfer is a modern and all-natural body contouring and facial and body rejuvenation procedure. It involves the extraction of fat tissue from areas where there is excess fat - most often from the abdomen, hips or thighs - and then its appropriate preparation and transplantation into areas that require filling or volume improvement.

Thanks to this, we simultaneously slim down some parts of the body and fill in others, achieving a harmonious silhouette and a natural aesthetic effect without the use of artificial implants or fillers.

What does the treatment consist of?

Lipotransfer is performed under anesthesia (local, intravenous or general - depending on the extent). First, fat is aspirated from selected areas using thin cannulas. The harvested tissue is then cleaned and prepared for re-administration - usually by centrifugation and filtration. The finished material is injected with a thin cannula into the areas requiring correction, such as the breasts, buttocks, face or hands.

The entire procedure takes an average of 60 to 120 minutes. The patient usually stays in the clinic for up to one day. After the procedure, it is necessary to wear a special compression garment for several weeks on the areas from which the fat was taken.

Indications for lipotransfer

Fat grafting is a very versatile procedure - it works well for both body contouring and skin rejuvenation.

The most common indications for lipotransfer:

  • Breast augmentation and shaping (a natural alternative to implants),
  • buttock modeling and augmentation,
  • Restoration of facial volume - cheeks, under-eye area, nasolabial furrows, lips,
  • Wrinkle reduction and facial oval improvement,
  • Correction of post-traumatic and post-surgical scars,
  • Rejuvenation of the hands, neck and décolleté,
  • Improved skin quality due to the presence of stem cells in fat tissue.

Effects after fat transplantation

Fat grafting provides a natural and long-lasting rejuvenation and modeling effect. After just a few days, smoothing of the skin, restoration of volume and improvement of body proportions are visible.

Key results of the treatment:

  • Natural filling and modeling of selected body parts,
  • Smoothing of wrinkles and furrows,
  • Improving facial oval and body contours,
  • Hand rejuvenation and skin revitalization,
  • Reduction of scars and bumps.

The effects last for many months, although some of the transplanted fat undergoes natural resorption. To maintain the results, it is possible to repeat the procedure.

Recovery

The recovery period is relatively short - after 7-14 days the patient can return to daily activities. The areas after fat harvesting may be slightly swollen and tender. Sutures are removed around day 7, and dressings are changed daily at home.

Why is it worth it?

  • Natural material - no risk of allergies and rejection
  • Simultaneous slimming and body shaping
  • Skin rejuvenation with stem cells
  • Short recovery and lasting effect

FAQ

Answers to frequently asked questions about a variety of treatments and procedures.

What does fat grafting involve?

Lipotransfer is a procedure in which fat tissue is taken from areas of excess fat (e.g. abdomen, thighs, hips) and then, after appropriate preparation, transplanted into areas that require correction - face, breasts, buttocks or hands. This results in a natural body contouring and rejuvenation effect.

Is lipotransfer safe?

Yes. The procedure uses the patient's own fat tissue, which is fully biocompatible, so there is no risk of allergic reactions or rejection.

How long do the effects of the treatment last?

Part of the transplanted fat is naturally resorbed, but the remainder is permanently integrated into the tissues. The effects of the procedure can last for many months or even years. If necessary, the procedure can be repeated.

What areas of the body can undergo lipotransfer?

Most commonly, fat grafting is used for:
- breast augmentation and shaping,
- buttock augmentation and firming,
- facial oval enhancement and cheek filling,
- reduction of dark circles under the eyes and nasolabial furrows,
- hand smoothing and skin rejuvenation,
- correction of traumatic and post-surgical scars.
