Treatment of pain

Kinesio-Taping involves applying non-stretchable or elastic tape to the body in a specific way. It is used not only in sports medicine (in the event of injury or contusion), but also in orthopedics and rehabilitation. Thanks to kinesiotaping, patients can return to their normal activities more quickly after treatment and surgery. Kinesio-Taping patches are an effective and very safe form of therapy. They do not contain any pharmacological agents, but nevertheless bring about the desired effects, including almost immediate pain relief or even complete pain elimination.

This method aims to reduce any pain and improve healing processes. The overall mechanism of action of the patch depends on how and where it is applied. After application, a muscle relaxation effect can be achieved. The patch also has analgesic properties and reduces bruising and swelling.

The adhesive patches cause the skin to be slightly stretched, which increases the space between the skin and the fascia—the membrane covering the muscles. This has a positive effect on the lymphatic system. The amount and speed of lymph flow increases, which helps remove congestion and reduce inflammation. Improved microcirculation has a positive effect on the biological, chemical, and physical processes that take place under the skin. The patches do not restrict everyday life in any way and can be worn while bathing, as the adhesive used in their production is waterproof. The therapeutic tapes are made of high-quality cotton, which resembles human skin in its properties. The patches adhere well to the skin, ensuring comfort during wear. The tapes do not restrict movement in any way, which is why they are referred to as dynamic.

When is it a good idea to use Kinesio-Taping?

This therapeutic method is recommended for, among other things:

  • injuries and trauma,
  • pain complaints resulting from degeneration,
  • reduced muscle tone,
  • lymphedema,
  • problems with extensive bruising.

Dynamic taping has several advantages, including the fact that it is suitable for a wide range of people. Therapeutic tapes improve circulation, which accelerates healing. What is more, they reduce tension and thus relieve pain. In addition, Kinesio Taping can be used in combination with other therapies.

There are various techniques for applying patches, and the choice of a specific technique depends on the individual case. The procedure at our clinic takes 20 minutes on average. The skin is thoroughly cleansed before the patches are applied. After the procedure, the patient can immediately resume their daily activities.

FAQ

Answers to frequently asked questions about a variety of treatments and procedures.

How to make an appointment at Dr Szczyt Clinic?

You can schedule a visit by calling 22 654 90 60 or via the website under Consultation appointments.

How do you choose the right treatment at Dr Szczyt Clinic?

The best way to choose the right treatment at a plastic surgery and aesthetic medicine clinic is to start with a consultation with a specialist. During the visit, the doctor will conduct a detailed medical interview, familiarize themselves with the patient's expectations, and assess their health and the specific nature of the aesthetic problem. Based on this information, they will advise on which treatments will be appropriate to achieve the desired results. The consultation also allows you to discuss the available options, their potential effects, and any possible risks, which makes it easier to make an informed decision.

What are the risks associated with plastic surgery procedures?

Every plastic surgery procedure, like any medical intervention, involves certain risks. The most common complications include infections, bleeding, reactions to anesthesia, and scarring. Less common complications include blood clots, pulmonary embolism, and sensory disturbances in the operated area. Proper preparation of the patient, careful qualification for the procedure, and the experience and professionalism of the medical team significantly minimize these risks. It is also important to follow the doctor's recommendations in the postoperative period, which allows for a faster and safer recovery.

Are aesthetic medicine procedures painful?

Aesthetic medicine treatments are usually minimally invasive and involve minimal discomfort. Most of them, such as injections or laser therapy, are performed using local anesthetics, which significantly reduces discomfort. Patients may experience slight pricking, burning, or tightness of the skin, but these symptoms usually disappear quickly after the procedure. If necessary, the doctor will always select appropriate pain relief methods to ensure maximum comfort for patients.
