An alternative to botox
This procedure is considered minimally invasive and completely safe. Importantly, after it is performed, you can go home right away.
Who can opt for the procedure?
Laser facial resurfacing is a solution recommended especially for people complaining of sagging facial skin. The treatment also gets rid of the problem of gray and sallow complexion without radiance. Thanks to it, acne scars, pigmentation changes, surgical scars, as well as furrows and wrinkles are no longer visible.
What does the treatment consist of?
Resurfacing involves the removal of the top layer of skin, and is performed using the Alma Harmony XL PRO laser, which emits multiple microscopic beams. These interact with the skin, producing a thermal effect. This means that the epidermis and parts of the dermis are vaporized in the areas reached by the laser beam. This creates micro-columns of damage. In between, the skin is left undamaged, and this significantly accelerates the healing and recovery process, and stimulates elastin and collagen production.
Preparation for the procedure
It is necessary to prepare properly for the resurfacing procedure. One month before the procedure it is necessary to stop preparations with retinol, isotretinoin and other derivatives of vitamin A. It is also necessary to avoid deep peeling or microdermabrasion. Before the planned resurfacing one should not sunbathe or use cosmetics containing acids or vitamin C. A week before the procedure, preparations with St. John's wort and calendula should be avoided, this also applies to herbal teas.
What does the treatment look like?
Prior to the procedure, the area of skin designated for treatment is anesthetized with a cream under an occlusive dressing, which takes an average of 40 minutes. Resurfacing is not painful, although a mild burning, stinging, pinching or warmth may be felt. Normally, it takes 15, up to a maximum of about 45 minutes, depending on the skin area. After the procedure is over, a regenerating protective product is applied to the treated areas. The patient can go home right away, observation is not necessary.
Full convalescence after resurfacing takes about a week, but patients usually return to professional activity after just 2 days. Immediately after the procedure, the skin is often red and swollen, later small scabs appear, which fall off after a few days (do not scrape them off). Makeup can be done at the earliest 24 hours after the procedure, and for a week the patient must avoid activities that contribute to overheating and skin congestion. These include: intense physical exertion, hot baths and alcohol consumption. For a month, it is advisable to use a UV 50 sunscreen.
